hi,
do you think being able to edit your posts (within a timeframe) is a worthwhile feature?

Hey Richard, Thought about it, and talked about it with other fellow developers, while it would be a "nice" feature to have (administrators can already do this) for the regular members, it can be misused. I decided not to include in 1.0.0 until I'd hear from comments like yours, If you all think this is worthwhile, I can definitely add it.
The trick is to not allow the "corrected" post to be taken out of conext (i.e. a user posts "Who likes Ice Cream?" and after a bunch of responses such as "I do" or "I don't", he modifies it to "Who
does not
like Ice Cream?" and similar situations, however I am thinking of a solution for this...
stay tuned..

another forum I post on (www.qtcentre.org) has an editing system that I think works well. You can edit your post for only an hour or so after posting, which lets you fix mistakes but it is static by the time most people see it.
Or you could over engineer it and add version control to posts to see the history of edits!

Version control is the way to go, since misleading a topic content is what worries me the most, I'll add this soon.. god idea Richard.

there's other bbs made with python (but django) that have a good approach on this, regarding version control for post. Maybe you could take ideas from it:

please, keep it doing good job with web2py and pyforum :)
