This is an ongoing thread that I'll keep closed for comments until it is finished, just wanted to create a web2py-for-dummies-type of post to help the beginner and seasoned pythonista to grasp the concept (or drink the kool-aid so to speak) of a simple website done in web2py, bear in mind that you can always download the pyForum.org source code and examine it and come back with questions about it.
I - Download and install web2py, I'll not go into this since there is plenty of documentation on this subjects, besides, I don't do windows very well and for each OS there is specific instructions on how to install web2py.
